Girl’s Trip…Destination: Cancun, Mexico!!

Hello Everyone! I’m super excited because it’s my Birthday and I get to share it with all of you! I’d been contemplating the platform and format of how I should share my life with you outside the cockpit and…The FlyGirl Chronicles was birthed. So, because it’s my birthday, I wanted to share with you my first girl’s trip I took with a group of lifelong friends that, along with myself, were all celebrating turning the big 4-0.

The planning process started almost a year in advance and I entrusted Karlene Claridy, another Hampton University alumni, to help with all the details for our travel. We decided on a 4 day, 3 night get away at the adult, all inclusive Excellence Playa Mujeres Resort.

The resort was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G! Everything about it was first class. The views, the rooms, the hospitality, and OMG-the food was simply heavenly. We had such an amazing time that we decided to take a girl’s trip every year with one condition. We decided to alternate our destinations so that every other year we would vacation somewhere in the United States that the majority of us had never been before. Can you guess where we ventured to next? Don’t worry, my next blog post will answer that million dollar question for you!

Needless to say, we relaxed by the pool, ate the most tropical and exquisite food (plus the best guacamole and salsa a girl could ask for), hung out at the spa, partook in a little libation, took a ride on a catamaran, and partied at Coco Bongo. We all were so sad to leave because it was The.Best.Girl’s.Trip.Ever!

  1. Very nice write up Stephanie. Happy Birthday! Girls trips are the best. I used to go every year until I got married and had a baby. I just went to Key West with my best girl friends last weekend and it was the best! I missed being with my friends and forgot how much of a good time we use to have when traveling together. Everyone is turning 40 this year so there will be lots of girl time. We’re going on a cruise in March and I can’t wait. Thanks for pointing out the importance of taking you mom/wife hat off and put your girlfriend hat on. Keep em coming!

  2. Hey Steph! I love the pics…I don’t remember seeing some of these. We had an awesome time and I am excited about our next one! Happy birthday!
