Many people have no idea that I have been crocheting since I was 5 years old. Sometimes I would go several months, maybe even a year without completing a single project. When most non-crafters think about crochet, granny square afghans come to mind. However, over the last decade or so, the art of crochet has really evolved into creating some pretty modern designs. This particular cardigan was featured on the cover of the winter 2008 Interweave Crochet Magazine. This is the second time that I’ve made this sweater-but I gave the first one to my baby sister!
This is a pretty simple pattern even for a beginner. The hardest part of making this was finding the yarn because I couldn’t find it anywhere in the United States. I finally found it online at Tauranga Knitting Centre. I will probably make this again but in a cream color. This was definitely a labor of love, but I’m so happy with the results. I hope you like it too!
