A few years ago, MIMI G posted a red cape HERE that I fell in love with but the material to make it was sold out. I still decided to purchase the Vogue Pattern, V8776 (now out of print), in hopes that the fabric would soon be restocked. It wasn’t until MIMI G published the same blog post HERE for a Throw Back Thursday, and stated that the Red Textured Wool was back in stock! I ordered the fabric HERE, cut out the pattern pieces, and it still sat in my “things to sew” for a couple of months.
It was around the holidays and trying to juggle sewing, a toddler, a newborn, and all the responsibilities that come with being a wife and mom, I just didn’t get to it until later. I finished and photographed this cape back in March when the weather was still cool. This past month or so, I’ve been working on one of my bucket list projects, so I haven’t been able to sew or blog.
I love this cape, even though my 4 year old son said that it looks like Little Red Riding Hood!! I cut the size Small but if I were to ever make it again, I will make the X-Small. Like MIMI G, I too omitted the button holes and used gold snaps.
I want to thank all of the creative blogging fashionistas out there that help take the guess work out of finding or making outfits, picking out the right fabrics and patterns, and putting the whole look together. My schedule doesn’t allow for me to spend countless hours in the mall or fabric store, so if I see something on the blogs that I can easily Duplicate or order online, that’s how I’ve been able to build my wardrobe over the last couple of years.
Thanks to all of you who have supported my blog through it’s transition. All of the changes will take another couple of weeks to complete. Please make sure you subscribe to the Blog so that you’ll be the first to know how I continue to spend my time Outside the Cockpit!

Is your pattern for sale? Since it is out of stock, I cannot find it anywhere. Thanks for your reply.
