Disney Networks Featuring Interstitials for Black History Month

Yeah!! I finally get to let the cat out of the bag! A few weeks ago I posted a picture of myself in front of a green screen but I couldn’t publicly share with you the details….until now! Back in December, I received a request to be a part of Disney’s “Be Inspired” Interstitials. An interstitial, in this case (according to Wikipedia), is a narrative bridge between segments within a program, such as live action introductions to animated segments.

Disney Junior is celebrating Black History Month by showing a series of pro-social Doc McStuffins themed interstitials highlighting successful African American pioneers in Aviation, Medicine and Animation. It is designed to engage kids’ curiosity and provide inspiration for future career paths. You can read more about it HERE.

The icing on the cake was that they also wanted to feature a family member between the age of 2-7 that could provide a short introduction of me to the Disney Junior audience. Of course you all know that I have a 5 year old son, Mason, that many of you have never seen because I’ve never posted pictures of my children on social media. So, Mason was the family member who joined me and we had a blast! It actually turned out that I shared the stage with Mason, instead of Mason sharing the stage with me!

Our interstitial will start airing tomorrow, February 8th, during Doc McStuffins on Disney Junior. I want to personally thank everyone who made this amazing opportunity possible for me and Mason. It’s an experience that we will never forget. You’re kindness and patience from the beginning until the end was First Class and I’m forever grateful!

Once we were done shooting for the day, the production team was so kind to take a group photo! I think my babies did great considering their little bodies were still on East Coast time!

What are the odds of having 3 people named “Stephanie” on set??? These ladies are amazing, and not just because we all share the same name!

I pray that when you see us on the Disney Networks..that we’ve made you proud and that you will also “Be Inspired!”

Update (February 18, 2017): Here’s the segment in case you missed it!!!
