I’m so in love with this dress that I almost can’t stand it!! When I saw this Vogue pattern, I immediately knew that I was going to make it using this amazing retro fabric that I purchased from Craftsy.com back in January. I was drawn to this pattern style because it’s first and foremost a maxi dress, but also the plunging neckline was very appealing. Thankfully, I’m small up top so that having a wardrobe malfunction wouldn’t be likely-especially using double sided tape! I’ve attached several photos below so I hope you like my version of this pattern as much as I do. You can purchase my sunnies HERE and I’ve also attached a pattern review below. Happy Monday!
Pattern Description: Deep-V Kimono Style Dress with Self Tie and Pockets Vogue 9253
Pattern Sizing: My envelope was sized as Xsm-Sml-Med, so I cut the size Small which is equivalent to a size 8-10, View B.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, very easy!
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love everything about this pattern-the plunging neckline, the pockets, everything!!!
Fabric used: I used a viscose woven that I purchased from Craftsy that’s now sold out.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None
Would you sew it again? Absolutely! I’ve already cut out the shorter version, View A, in an amazing denim fabric!

I agree, this is beautiful on you!! Everything is gorgeous!
I love it!!!
Hi, beautiful dress! I am very new to sewing and tried to make this dress recently. I have a question: for the front pleats, after you baste them and attach the top to the skirt, do you take the basting out or stitch the pleats down? It’s hard to tell when the belt is tied around the front.
I removed my basting stitches out.
