Viscose Crepe DIY Bow Neck Dress

I used Simplicity pattern 8214 to make this dress. I made it a couple of years ago, but never photographed myself in it. It’s super comfy and a quick sew. It’s a really great pattern for a beginner sewer. There’s so many things that I like about this dress. It has all the things that I love-pockets, a pussy-bow, and quarter length sleeves. The pattern is no longer available for purchase on Simplicity’s website, but you can purchase is by searching Amazon and Etsy. I’ve included a pattern review below. I hope you enjoy and don’t forget to subscribe to my blog! Enjoy your weekend!

Pattern Description: Simplicity pattern 8214 View A

Pattern Sizing:  I cut a size 8 and graded to a 10 on the bottom. I could’ve cut a straight 8.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?  Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?  I love everything about this dress! It has all the things that I love-pockets, a pussy-bow, and quarter length sleeves.

Fabric used: I used a viscose crepe that I purchased from Craftsy years ago when they sold fabric.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None

Would you sew it again? Yes, I’d like to sew it in a heavier weight fabric like a denim or even make the jumpsuit version.
